The humid, heavy atmosphere of the rainy season in Vietnam is captured in this painting depicting a Navy F-4B Phantom from VF-323 operating with a Forward Air Control spotter aircraft in 1968. The location of this painting is the hill country near Khe Sanh in I Corps, Republic of Vietnam, where VF-323 operated closely in support of the beleaguered Marines at the fire base. The artist is personally familiar with this scenery. He was there on the ground with the 1st Marine Division.
