The original painting was produced as a commemorative gift from the men and women of the 126th Air Refueling Wing of the Illinois Air National Guard based at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport. It depicts the Thunderbirds' two solo General Dynamics F-16A Falcon aircraft in tight formation low over the lake shore of Chicago, Illinois. This presentation was to celebrate the Thunderbirds performance at the 1987 Air and Water Show, a Chicago summer tradition. The original painting is listed with the United States Air Force art collection and is located at the Thunderbird Museum at Nellis A.F.B., Nevada.
